Optimizing Results: Aftercare Guidance

Post Care

What to Expect in the First 14 Days:

Intensified colour and slight redness are normal and a part of the initial stages of healing. Redness will fade in a few hours.

In a few days, the microstrokes we did will start to oxidize and form light scabs, and they might look a tiny bit darker and thicker. As the skin heals, your brows will begin to flake lightly. Please refrain from picking at your brows as you run the risk of removing pigment in the process.

When the scabs fall off, do not feel discouraged if the strokes are not immediately visible or appear to have healed patchy. Over the next few weeks as your skin naturally exfoliates your brows will gain strength in colour, settling between weeks 6 and 8. The healed result will be approximately 30% – 50% lighter than the first day.

Aftercare Instructions

To achieve best healed results, follow these simple guidelines.

Wash the tattooed area GENTLY 3-5 times a day (every 4-6 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel, gauze or cotton round.

Pat the area dry and apply a THIN layer of the barrier cream that has been supplied to you.

Avoid These
  1. Avoid allowing the shower to spray directly on your brows while bathing. After bathing, pat the area dry and re-apply a thin layer of the barrier cream.

  2. Avoid applying any products other than the barrier cream to your brows.

  3. Avoid picking or scratching at your brows. Apply barrier cream more frequently if your brows are itchy.

  4. Avoid sun exposure throughout the healing process.

  5. Avoid exercising or sweating throughout the healing process.

  6. Avoid all chemical exfoliants on your brows and forehead for the next 8 weeks, such as:

    • Hyaluronic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid

    • AHA’s and BHA’s

    • Retinoids (Retinol/Retin-A)

    • Topical Vitamin C

Post Care

What to Expect in the First 14 Days:

The treated area has been sanitized and is starting to dry out. It’s important that you allow your skin to fully dry during the next 48 hours. This means you cannot get the area wet, no washing the area, no sweating, and no creams or products of any kind. Drying out the skin like this prevents any irritation and inflammation and will pull out more pigment in the process. Any redness of the skin will subside in the next 48 hours.

The treated area will now be quite dry, and a thin scab will have formed. You have been provided Cavilon barrier wipe for better and faster healing. Use the provided cavillon wipe to wipe your brows, ensuring that you cover the entirety of the scab and a little beyond the edges.

The scab will begin to lift and flake lightly as it heals over the next few days. Do not pick or pull at the scab. It is ok if the scab gets a little wet when showering or washing your face, but you must pat it dry immediately after.

Once all of the flaking has stopped, you are fully healed and can resume your normal routine.

In a few days, the work we we did will start to oxidize and form light scabs, and they might look a tiny bit darker and thicker. As the skin heals, your scalp might  begin to flake lightly and the dots that we did will come off in random pieces. Please refrain from picking as you run the risk of removing pigment in the process.

When the scabs fall off, do not feel discouraged if the pigment is not immediately visible and/or appear to have healed patchy. Over the next few weeks as your skin naturally exfoliates the tattooed area will gain strength in colour. The healed result will be  approximately 30% – 50% lighter than the first day.

Aftercare Tips
Scalp Care Routine for Hair Color Preservation
  1. Only rinse your scalp with water for the first 4 days. Towel dry your hair and allow the rest to air dry.
  2. On the 4th day, you may now begin using shampoo but be very careful not to scrub your scalp. Doing so will prematurely lift the pigment.
  1. Do not apply any creams, lotions, SPF or products to your scalp.
  2. No working out. At all. This is not negotiable.
  3. Avoid sun exposure until scalp is healed. Wear a CLEAN hat while outside.
  4. Avoid picking or scratching at your scalp. Pat your scalp if it gets itchy.
  5. Do not use heat to dry or style your hair until day 5.
